About the Role

Our client is seeking a bright and motivated Insurance Actuarial Assistant to join their expanding actuarial team in Norwich . This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in actuarial science within the insurance industry. You will assist senior actuaries in performing complex calculations, developing pricing models, reserving, and analyzing financial risks. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong quantitative aptitude and a desire to pursue a career in actuarial science, contributing to the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial reporting.
• Perform data analysis and manipulation to support actuarial investigations.
• Help prepare reports and presentations on actuarial findings and recommendations.
• Support the validation and testing of actuarial models and methodologies.
• Liaise with other departments to gather necessary data and provide actuarial insights.
• Stay abreast of actuarial best practices, industry standards, and relevant software.

Requirements

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Progress towards actuarial examinations (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in mathematical and statistical concepts.
• Experience with actuarial software or programming languages (e.g., Excel, Python, R) is a plus.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
