About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Insurance Risk Analyst to join their dedicated team in Portsmouth . You will be involved in developing risk models, analysing data trends, and providing strategic insights to inform underwriting, investment, and operational decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of insurance risks, including market, credit, operational, and underwriting risks.
- Develop, implement, and refine risk models and methodologies to assess potential financial impacts.
- Monitor risk exposures and key risk indicators (KRIs), reporting findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to integrate risk management strategies into business processes.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices in risk management.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company's risk appetite framework and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in a risk management or analytical role , preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent understanding of insurance products, markets, and regulatory environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
