About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly analytical and meticulous Insurance Risk Analyst to join their team in our Stoke-on-Trent office. In this vital role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across the company's insurance portfolio. You will conduct in-depth data analysis, develop risk models, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management to safeguard the company's financial stability and operational integrity. This position requires a strong quantitative background and a deep understanding of the financial services and insurance sectors . You will play a key part in shaping the company's risk management framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk assessment methodologies and models for the insurance portfolio.
- Analyze financial data, market trends, and operational processes to identify key risks and vulnerabilities.
- Prepare detailed risk reports and present findings and recommendations to management and relevant committees.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices in risk management.
- Collaborate with various departments to embed a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Risk Analyst or in a similar quantitative role within the financial services or insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and techniques.
- Advanced analytical and statistical modeling skills, with proficiency in relevant software (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
- Excellent data visualization and reporting abilities.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Solvency II is highly advantageous.
