About the Role
Our client is seeking a quantitative and analytical Insurance Risk Analyst to join their remote-based team. You will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks across the company's insurance portfolio. This role demands a strong understanding of risk management principles, statistical modelling, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making and ensure the financial stability of the organization. Working within a fully remote setup, you will collaborate with diverse teams to develop and implement robust risk management frameworks, contributing to the company's long-term success and resilience in the competitive insurance market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and quantify potential risks across underwriting, investment, and operational areas.
- Develop and maintain risk models to forecast potential losses and assess capital adequacy.
- Monitor key risk indicators and trends, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for risk management.
- Collaborate with actuaries, underwriters, and finance teams on risk-related projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in risk analysis or a similar role within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II).
- Excellent report-writing and presentation skills for conveying complex information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
