Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance applications, assessing risk exposure and determining the insurability of applicants.
- Set appropriate premiums, deductibles, and policy terms based on risk analysis and underwriting guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with insurance brokers and agents to gather necessary information and explain underwriting decisions.
- Monitor the performance of underwritten policies and identify trends or potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company underwriting standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Insurance Underwriter , with a strong understanding of risk assessment principles.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial data, statistical information, and other relevant documentation.
- Knowledge of UK insurance market regulations and practices.
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- A degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant professional certifications.
