About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new and renewal insurance applications, determining risk acceptability and pricing.
• Analyze applicant information, including financial data, historical loss records, and risk assessments.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, policy wordings, and regulatory requirements consistently.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and agents to secure profitable business.
• Collaborate with the sales and claims teams to provide underwriting support and insights.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Insurance Underwriter or in a closely related insurance role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent understanding of insurance principles , risk management, and underwriting practices.
• Proficiency in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CII) are advantageous.
