We are seeking an experienced and motivated Integrated Care Development Trainer (Call Handling) to join our Integrated Care Development Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced NHS Pathways practitioner to play a pivotal role in supporting the recruitment, training, mentoring and ongoing development of Integrated Care staff.

As an Integrated Care Development Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programmes, coaching and mentoring staff at all stages of their development. The successful candidate will combine operational expertise with a passion for learning and development, ensuring colleagues maintain high standards of performance, compliance and patient safety. You will work collaboratively with operational managers, auditors and quality teams to identify development needs and implement improvement plans that contribute to outstanding patient care and service delivery.

Alongside training responsibilities, you will continue to undertake operational call handling duties on a one-in-six basis to maintain clinical credibility, professional competence and subject matter expertise.

Main duties of the job

• Design, develop and deliver engaging training packages for Integrated Care Call Handling staff, including NHS Pathways, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), key skills and operational procedures.
• Support the induction, training and professional development of new and existing staff through classroom-based learning, coaching and mentoring activities.
• Act as first-line manager for new starters during their training period, providing guidance, performance support and probationary management.
• Work collaboratively with operational leaders, auditors and quality teams to identify learning needs and implement development plans.
• Provide side-by-side coaching and support to improve performance, confidence and compliance standards.
• Monitor learning outcomes, maintain training records and produce reports to support quality improvement and governance activity.
• Maintain NHS Pathways and operational call handling competence through regular operational practice.
• Act as a subject matter expert, supporting investigations, capability processes and service improvement activities where required.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional development and patient-centred care across Integrated Care services.

Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.

Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination.

Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
