Job Description
We are supporting a values-led care provider to appoint an Interim Registered Manager to oversee a portfolio of services across the South West. This is a hands-on assignment where you’ll provide strong leadership, ensure compliance, and stabilise/strengthen service delivery across multiple locations.
This is an initial 3–6 month contract with a competitive day rate.
The assignment
As Interim Registered Manager, you’ll take day-to-day responsibility for service performance, quality and compliance, while supporting and developing service teams. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to deliver safe, person-centred support and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
Provide visible leadership across services, modelling best practice and values-led care
Maintain regulatory compliance and readiness (CQC), including audits, action plans, policies and governance
Manage and support Team Leaders, building capability and accountability
Improve key performance areas (quality, incidents/safeguarding, staffing, rota stability, training, engagement)
Oversee recruitment, onboarding and retention activity to stabilise staffing
Ensure robust care planning and risk management that supports positive outcomes for individuals
Manage stakeholder relationships (commissioners, social workers, families, internal SMT)
Support with budget awareness and efficient operational delivery (where applicable)
What we’re looking for
Proven experience as a Registered Manager (or strong deputy stepping up) within supported living/community services
Strong working knowledge of CQC frameworks and quality/compliance requirements
Confident leading multi-site teams and delivering improvement plans at pace
Excellent safeguarding, incident management and governance capability
Able to start quickly and commit to an on-site presence across the South West (travel required)
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete immediately)
Contract details
Duration: 3–6 months
Location: South West (multi-site)
Rate: Competitive day rate (DOE)
Start: ASAP / short notice preferred
