Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Internal Auditor to join their team and contribute to strengthening internal controls and risk management processes, working remotely from Sheffield . This role is responsible for independently assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying operational risks, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. You will conduct audits across various departments, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This is a great chance for an auditor to work with autonomy and make a tangible difference in risk mitigation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits according to the annual audit plan.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Identify areas of risk and non-compliance, and develop practical recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct fieldwork, document audit findings, and prepare detailed audit reports.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and audit committees.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or qualified Accountant or Auditor (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIA).
• Experience in internal or external audit , risk management, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency with audit software and data analysis techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
