Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Internal Auditor to join their team on a contractual basis, working remotely. This position is crucial for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes across the organization. You will conduct independent audits, identify areas of non-compliance or inefficiency, and recommend corrective actions. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong investigative skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, ensuring the integrity and security of the company's operations and assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan and professional standards.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and operational processes.
• Identify and document control weaknesses, non-compliance issues, and potential fraud risks.
• Prepare clear, concise, and actionable audit reports for senior management and the audit committee.
• Develop recommendations for improving internal controls, operational efficiency, and compliance.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and verify their effectiveness.

Requirements

• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal or external audit.
• Thorough understanding of auditing principles, standards, and best practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques for audit purposes.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings professionally.
