Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Internal Auditor to join their risk and assurance team in Bristol . This role is essential for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance across the organisation. You will conduct audits, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, financial integrity, and compliance with regulations. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the company's control environment and supporting strategic objectives through independent and objective assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audits of various business units and processes.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and non-compliance issues, providing practical recommendations.
• Develop audit findings and reports, discussing them with management to ensure clarity and agreement on actions.
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon action plans to ensure remediation of identified issues.
• Stay current with auditing best practices, relevant regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements

• Qualified or working towards a professional auditing qualification (e.g., CIA, ACA, ACCA).
• Proven experience in internal or external audit, risk management, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of auditing standards, internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and audit management software is desirable.
