Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Internal Auditor to join their governance and risk team, operating remotely to support operations across the UK, including Bristol . This role is vital for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures. You will conduct audits, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audit methodologies and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the assurance and integrity of the company's operations from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits across various departments and business units.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management frameworks.
• Identify control weaknesses, non-compliance issues, and areas for operational improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings and providing practical recommendations.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation.
• Stay abreast of best practices in internal auditing and relevant industry regulations.

Requirements

• Professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in internal audit or a related field.
• Strong understanding of audit principles, risk assessment, and control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit engagements remotely.
