Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client, a significant organisation in Nottingham , is looking for a diligent and analytical Internal Auditor to join their dedicated audit team. This role is critical for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organisation. You will be responsible for planning and executing audits, identifying areas of risk, and providing recommendations for improvement to senior management. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify control weaknesses.
• Assess compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management and the audit committee.

Requirements

• Professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA is preferred.
• Proven experience in internal audit or a related field such as risk management or compliance.
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
