Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Internal Auditor to join their finance department, operating entirely in a remote capacity. This role is vital for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization. You will conduct independent reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity. As a remote auditor, you will utilize digital tools and communication platforms to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive and objective assessment of business operations from afar.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements across various business units and financial processes.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, identifying any control weaknesses or non-compliance issues.
• Assess risks associated with business objectives and operational activities, recommending mitigation strategies.
• Conduct forensic accounting investigations when necessary, documenting findings and evidence meticulously.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management and process owners, communicating audit findings clearly and constructively.

Requirements

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or relevant internal audit certification (e.g., CIA).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related financial role.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), risk assessment methodologies, and audit best practices.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools and audit management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information concisely to diverse audiences, crucial for remote interactions.
