Internal Auditor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and diligent Internal Auditor to join their team in Reading . This role is key to assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organisation. You will be responsible for planning and executing audits, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to management to enhance operational efficiency and compliance. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly and constructively. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct internal audits of business processes, financial records, and IT systems.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify control weaknesses.
• Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Develop practical recommendations for improving controls, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon action plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in internal audit or external audit.
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessment, and control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
