Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join their operations in Portsmouth . This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels, minimizing stock discrepancies, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust inventory management procedures, conducting regular audits, and working closely with the warehouse team to resolve any issues. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to managing stock accuracy, contributing to overall operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
• Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Monitor stock levels and report on inventory accuracy, turnover rates, and potential obsolescence.
• Work with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of all inventory.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of warehouse management systems (WMS) related to inventory.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an inventory control or stock management role.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and WMS.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with warehouse staff.
