Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join their warehousing team in Milton Keynes . This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of stock levels within the facility, ensuring that inventory data is precise and readily available. You will be responsible for implementing and adhering to strict inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and working closely with the operations and procurement teams to prevent stockouts and overstocking. This is a key role for an individual who thrives on accuracy and process improvement within a busy warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy against system records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory levels, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage the receiving and put-away process, ensuring items are correctly logged and stored in designated locations.
• Process stock adjustments, transfers, and returns accurately and efficiently within the inventory management system.
• Develop and maintain reports on inventory levels, turnover, and aging to support operational decisions.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in inventory control , stock management, or a similar warehousing role.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organizational skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
