About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to join their bustling warehouse operations in Southampton . This role is fundamental to maintaining accurate stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our facility. You will be responsible for implementing robust inventory management procedures and working closely with the warehouse team to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency in our logistics and warehousing operations. This is a key on-site role vital to our operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with procurement and receiving teams to ensure accurate receipt of goods and proper put-away processes.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or a similar role within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MS Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
