Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to manage stock levels and ensure accuracy within their Leeds facility. You will be responsible for monitoring inventory, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. This role is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and financial accuracy within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong numerical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory-related issues, ensuring the integrity of stock data across the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical stocktakes.
• Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between system data and physical inventory.
• Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize losses.
• Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to forecast demand and plan stock replenishment.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to inventory management processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Inventory Controller or in a similar inventory management role.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills for liaison with various departments.
