About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Inventory Controller to join their dynamic team in Sunderland . This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of stock levels, ensuring efficient operations within their Logistics & Warehousing division. You will be responsible for managing stock movements, conducting regular audits, and implementing strategies to minimise stock discrepancies and wastage. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of inventory management systems and best practices, contributing to the overall success of the warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records across all storage locations.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stocktakes to verify inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimise loss and obsolescence.
- Monitor stock levels and generate reports on inventory status, movements, and valuation.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure adequate stock levels for production and sales demands.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Inventory Controller or in a similar inventory management role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including FIFO/LIFO.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to conduct thorough audits and reconciliations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, essential for coordinating with other departments in Sunderland .
- Understanding of the Logistics & Warehousing sector.
