IT Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer Blackburn (Head office)

Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to play a leading role in the growth of our IT team in our Blackburn.

About the role

This role ensures that IT systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the ongoing needs of the business. The engineer supports both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure projects, contributing to system improvements, automation efforts, and technical troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and availability across all IT services.

Key responsibilities

• 2nd Line Troubleshooting / Executive IT Support
• Proactively monitor and remediate incidents using approved tools and practices.
• Mentoring / Point of Escalation for internal team members
• Ensure Security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Ownership of systems
• Liaising with 3rd party suppliers.
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Backup and recovery ownership
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and changes, ensuring timely stakeholder communication
• Out of hours work will be required.

What you will need

Experience on the following would be an advantage:

• End user compute applications – Windows 10, 11 / Mac OS
• Server – 2016,2019,2022
• Hypervisor Technologies, Hyper-V, VMware & Proxmox
• Experience with Cisco networking hardware
• Identity – Okta / Microsoft Entra
• VEEAM backup and replication
• Strong Azure and Office 365 knowledge
• Telephony – Teams / Webex / Poly & Logitech conferencing systems
