As an IT Support Assistant in our Defence Academy team, you'll provide vital first- and second-line technical support that helps keep essential technology services running smoothly. Your work will ensure colleagues, students, and stakeholders have the tools and support they need to succeed.

What you\'ll do as a IT Support Assistant
- Provide first- and second-line IT support, resolving incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
- Prepare, configure, deploy, collect, and support end-user devices, hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records, including auditing equipment and updating asset databases.
- Install, configure, and support Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and associated applications.
- Investigate and resolve equipment audit discrepancies and support the disposal of obsolete technology in line with procedures.
- Contribute to IT projects, refresh programmes, knowledge management activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and complete audits.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to support users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, solve problems, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Windows desktop operating systems, or ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles would be advantageous.
