About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Technician to join their educational institution in Norwich . This role is essential for maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure that underpins all teaching and administrative functions. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing user support to staff and students, and assisting with the implementation of new IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation and a solid understanding of common IT problems within an educational context, ensuring smooth technological operations across the campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot IT problems, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Assist with the setup and management of IT equipment for classrooms, labs, and administrative offices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to IT resources.
- Maintain IT inventory and documentation, ensuring accurate records of assets and configurations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT Support role, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common educational software.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic hardware repair.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively.
