About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join their established software development team in Derby . This role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining robust enterprise-level applications using the Java programming language and its associated frameworks. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, contributing to all phases from requirement analysis to testing and deployment. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented programmer with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles and a passion for building high-quality, efficient, and scalable software solutions within a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications and backend services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, testers, and other developers, to define and implement software solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and the continuous improvement of the development process.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Proficiency in Java and familiarity with the Java ecosystem, including frameworks like Spring or Hibernate.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
