Job Description
A leading crypto trading firm is looking for a strong Java Developer to join a front-office technology team working directly with Traders and Quantitative Researchers.
This is a hands-on role focused on pricing, market making and live trading systems . The successful candidate will work closely with the trading and quant teams to take trading ideas and models—such as changes to pricing logic, volatility curves or market-making strategies—and turn them into robust, production-ready Java systems.
The role is ideally suited to someone with strong Java experience and exposure to electronic trading, algorithmic trading, pricing or market making in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with Traders and Quantitative Researchers to develop and enhance production trading systems.
- Implement and enhance pricing models, volatility curves and market-making strategies.
- Develop and maintain business-critical real-time trading applications.
- Collaborate with researchers using Python and KDB/Q, taking research concepts and productionising them in Java.
- Improve the robustness, performance and scalability of live trading systems.
- Respond to changing market and trading requirements in a fast-moving environment.
- Take ownership of production systems operating in a high-pressure environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Exposure to front-office trading environments , ideally involving live pricing, execution, market making or algorithmic trading.
- Experience working directly with Traders and/or Quantitative Researchers .
- Strong understanding of the challenges of building and supporting real-time trading systems.
- Experience taking trading or quantitative concepts and implementing them in production code.
- Exposure to pricing and/or market data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Highly Desirable Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Market making
- Algorithmic trading
- Pricing engines or real-time pricing systems
- Volatility curves and/or quantitative pricing models
- KDB/Q and Python for research or quantitative analysis
- eFX, Equities or ETFs
- Options experience is also relevant
- Performance-sensitive or low-latency systems
