About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Java Developer to join their established software development team in Oxford . This role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems and enterprise applications using the Java ecosystem. You will be an integral part of an agile team, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support. We are seeking an individual with a strong foundation in Java development and a passion for building high-quality, scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality backend applications and services using Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, testers, and other developers, to deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and toolchains.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Java development .
- Proficiency with the Java programming language and common libraries.
- Experience with the Spring framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
- Understanding of version control systems like Git and experience in an agile development environment.
