Junior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Accountant to join their finance team in Wolverhampton . You will support the senior accounting staff with day-to-day tasks, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the finance department. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong analytical skills, and be committed to developing their accounting expertise within a supportive commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Process invoices, expenses, and bank transactions, ensuring accurate data entry.
• Perform bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations as required.
• Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
• Help with the preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
• Assist senior accountants with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or AAT qualified/working towards ACCA/CIMA.
• Some prior experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a willingness to learn accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive attitude towards learning and development.
