About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Reading . This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in purchasing and supply chain management. You will support senior buyers in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery. The role involves significant interaction with suppliers and internal departments, making strong communication and organizational skills essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers with the full purchasing cycle, including identifying needs, sourcing potential suppliers, and obtaining quotes.
• Process purchase orders accurately and track their status through to delivery.
• Maintain supplier databases and update pricing information in the procurement system.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve queries regarding orders, deliveries, and invoices.
• Support the team in analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure all purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A recent graduate or individual with 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or purchasing support role.
• Strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and colleagues.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to learn about procurement and supply chain management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field is advantageous.
