Junior Buyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support their procurement team remotely. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual keen to develop a career in purchasing and supply chain management. Working from home, you will assist senior buyers in various tasks, gaining hands-on experience in sourcing, order processing, and supplier communication. You will contribute to maintaining efficient stock levels and ensuring that goods are procured within budget, playing a supportive yet vital role in the overall purchasing function of the organisation from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the identification and sourcing of suppliers for various goods and services.
• Process purchase orders and monitor their status through to delivery.
• Help maintain accurate inventory records and assist in stock control procedures.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery times, and resolve queries.
• Support senior buyers with market research and price comparison activities.
• Ensure all purchasing documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately.

Requirements

• A keen interest in purchasing and supply chain management.
• Good organisational skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of procurement principles is a plus, but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote interaction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and eagerness to learn new systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
