About the Role
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Belfast . This role provides an excellent entry point into the world of purchasing, offering hands-on experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the acquisition of goods and services. You will work closely with senior buyers and suppliers to ensure the efficient flow of materials and products, supporting the operational needs of various departments. This hybrid position allows for a balance of in-office collaboration in Belfast and remote flexibility, making it ideal for someone eager to learn and grow within a supportive purchasing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations for required goods and services.
- Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery according to specified requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and pricing.
- Support senior team members in negotiations and contract administration.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in managing inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Liaise with internal departments to clarify purchasing needs and resolve queries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably within purchasing or logistics.
- Basic understanding of procurement principles and supply chain concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data tracking.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with suppliers and colleagues.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop within the procurement field.
