Junior Buyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Buyer to join their expanding procurement team in Leeds . This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in purchasing, offering hands-on experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. You will support senior buyers in day-to-day purchasing activities, learn about market dynamics, and contribute to the team's success in securing cost-effective and high-quality goods and services. The role requires a keen learner with strong organisational skills and a desire to develop expertise in procurement within a supportive and dynamic company culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers with sourcing activities, including identifying potential suppliers and obtaining quotations.
• Process purchase orders and manage them through to delivery, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
• Maintain supplier databases and update pricing information as required.
• Communicate with suppliers to track orders and resolve minor issues related to deliveries.
• Support the procurement team in data analysis and report generation.
• Learn and adhere to company procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A foundational understanding of purchasing principles, ideally gained through education or a short period of work experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy in data entry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for basic data manipulation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to build a career in procurement.
