Junior Buyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Buyer to join their expanding procurement team, remotely based in the Stoke-on-Trent region, but working entirely from home. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain hands-on experience in purchasing, supporting senior buyers in sourcing materials and services. You will be involved in price negotiation, supplier communication, and maintaining purchasing records, contributing to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain. The role encourages professional development and offers a clear path for career advancement within the procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers in sourcing and procuring goods and services according to specified requirements.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and assist in comparing prices and terms.
• Place purchase orders and monitor their progress from order to delivery.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and update relevant databases.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve queries and expedite deliveries.
• Support the procurement team with administrative tasks and data analysis.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities for designated product lines.

Requirements

• A keen interest in a career in purchasing or procurement.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
