About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Chemical Engineer to join their dedicated research and development team in Cardiff . This role focuses on investigating and optimizing reaction kinetics for novel chemical synthesis pathways. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and scientists, gaining hands-on experience in experimental design, data analysis, and process development. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to build a strong foundation in chemical engineering within a supportive and innovative industrial setting, contributing directly to the creation of next-generation chemical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments to study reaction rates, mechanisms, and equilibrium under various conditions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using statistical and chemical engineering software.
- Assist in the design and scale-up of pilot-scale reaction systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including lab reports, progress updates, and safety assessments.
- Collaborate with senior team members on process optimization and troubleshooting efforts.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Strong academic background in thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport phenomena.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and experimental techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python for scientific computing).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
