Junior Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is excited to recruit a bright and enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to join their expanding operations in Belfast . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with 1-2 years of experience looking to build a strong foundation in chemical process engineering. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to the design, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes. Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and modification of chemical processes and equipment.
• Support plant operations by monitoring process performance, identifying deviations, and participating in troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct routine process calculations, data collection, and analysis to support optimization efforts.
• Prepare technical documentation, including process reports, P&IDs, and safety reviews, under supervision.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and other safety assessment activities to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to resolve operational issues and implement improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with engineering software (e.g., MATLAB, Chemcad) is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to taking on new challenges.
