Junior Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to join their team in Derby, Derbyshire . This is an excellent entry-level position for a recent graduate eager to build a career in the chemical industry. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, assisting with process design, operational support, and project execution. This role provides a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and practices, offering hands-on experience in a supportive environment where learning and development are prioritized. You will contribute to various aspects of our plant operations and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of chemical processes and equipment.
• Support senior engineers in troubleshooting operational issues and implementing solutions.
• Participate in process hazard analyses and safety reviews.
• Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and P&IDs.
• Monitor plant performance data and contribute to efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Entry-level position, with internships or co-op experience highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of chemical engineering principles and unit operations.
• Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in standard office software; experience with process simulation software is a plus.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
