About the Role
Our client, a well-established chemical manufacturing company, is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a real-world chemical production environment. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to process monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while learning the fundamentals of plant operations and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in monitoring plant performance and identifying deviations from standard operating procedures.
- Participate in process troubleshooting activities and data collection for analysis.
- Support the implementation of minor process modifications and operational improvements.
- Help ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare basic reports, documentation, and presentations related to process performance.
- Engage in on-the-job training to develop skills in process control, safety, and equipment operation.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Strong theoretical understanding of core chemical engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
