Are you a junior Controls Engineer or similar looking to join a specialist controls business offering excellent training and career progression where you will play a key role in designing and delivering bespoke industrial automation systems?

On offer is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a specialist controls team, where you'll take responsibility for designing customer‑specific control philosophies, electrical schematics, control panels and automation systems while receiving ongoing mentoring and technical development to progress towards a Senior Engineer position.
This role would suit a Junior or Mid-Level Automation Controls Engineer or similar with at least 2 years' experience, an Electrical Engineering qualification, and hands‑on experience with industrial control systems who is looking for a varied role with excellent training and career progression.
In this role, the successful candidate will assist with project costing, design electrical schematics and control panels, develop PLC and HMI systems, support panel manufacturing, carry out testing, and attend client sites for commissioning and technical support.
The Role:
- Designing customer‑specific control philosophies and electrical schematics using relay logic and PLC programming
- Designing control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and Bills of Materials using CAD software
- Developing and supporting PLC and HMI programming tasks, including Siemens systems
- Monday to Friday with occasional travel to customer sites
The Person:
- Controls Engineer or similar background with a minimum of 2 years' experience
- HNC/HND, degree or recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience building or assembling industrial automation control systems
- Siemens, Omron or similar PLC/HMI experience (Preferred)
- Knowledge of VSD/inverter drive control and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus or Profinet (Preferred)
- Strong fault‑finding, communication and organisational skills
