Junior Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join their established team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to learn and grow within a supportive industrial environment. You will assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to a wide range of projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, receiving valuable mentorship and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and drafting of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Support senior engineers in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.
• Conduct basic research on electrical components and materials to support design decisions.
• Help maintain and update technical documentation, including Bills of Materials and design records.
• Participate in site visits and assist with the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Learn and apply relevant engineering standards and safety procedures in all tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A strong academic record with a foundational understanding of electrical principles.
• Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) is a plus.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in an office and workshop environment.
