Junior Geologist - Resource Estimation

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Geologist to join their team in Derby , focusing on resource estimation. You will work closely with senior geologists and mine planners, contributing to the assessment of mineral reserves and the strategic planning of mining operations. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection, validation, and management of geological data, including drill core logging and sampling.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of geological models using specialized software.
• Support senior geologists in performing resource and reserve estimations.
• Conduct basic geological analysis and interpretation of exploration data.
• Prepare geological logs, cross-sections, and reports under supervision.
• Participate in site visits for data verification and operational support as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of geological principles, mineralogy, and structural geology.
• Familiarity with geological software such as Leapfrog, ArcGIS, or similar is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meticulously manage data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
