About the Role
Our client is seeking an ambitious Junior Industrial Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Sheffield . This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in optimizing production processes, improving workflow efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with senior engineers, learning and applying Lean Manufacturing principles and data analysis techniques in a dynamic production environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in analyzing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as 5S, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Help develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving activities related to production issues.
- Assist in the monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Zero to two years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, eager to learn and contribute in a Sheffield -based facility.
