About the Role
Our client is seeking an ambitious and environmentally conscious Junior Process Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote team, based conceptually near Plymouth . This role is focused on driving sustainability initiatives within the company's chemical operations, identifying and implementing greener processes and waste reduction strategies. You will work closely with senior engineers and sustainability experts to analyze process performance, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to achieving the company's environmental goals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing current chemical processes to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
- Research and evaluate new sustainable technologies and methodologies for implementation.
- Support the design and development of greener chemical processes and operational modifications.
- Collect and analyze data related to environmental performance, such as emissions, energy consumption, and waste generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote and implement sustainable practices across operations.
- Contribute to process safety reviews with a focus on environmental impact and sustainability.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a strong chemical engineering foundation.
- 0-3 years of experience in a process engineering or related role, with a demonstrable interest in sustainability.
- Understanding of chemical process principles and basic knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
