About the Role

Our client is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Bristol . This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in construction commercial management, working alongside experienced professionals. You will be involved in various aspects of cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting for construction projects. This position is designed for a motivated graduate or early-career professional eager to learn and contribute to the financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assist senior surveyors in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
Support the administration of construction contracts, including processing variations and subcontractor payments.
Help to monitor project costs, track expenditure, and assist in preparing interim and final accounts.
Conduct site visits to measure works completed and assist in verifying progress claims.
Compile data for progress reports and assist in the preparation of commercial documentation.
Learn and apply company procedures for procurement, tendering, and contract management.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
An enthusiasm for cost management and a desire to learn the intricacies of the construction industry.
Basic understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles is beneficial.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
A proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail, essential for accurate financial management.
