About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Telecoms Network Engineer to join their growing team in Derby . You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, assisting with the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of network infrastructure. This role provides a fantastic foundation for learning and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic telecoms environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and configuration of network hardware and software components.
• Support senior engineers in the monitoring of network performance and the identification of potential issues.
• Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including software updates and patch management.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve basic network connectivity and performance problems.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Learn and apply industry best practices in network engineering and telecommunications.

Requirements

• A degree or HND in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and routing principles.
• Familiarity with network hardware such as routers and switches is beneficial.
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in the telecoms industry.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
