Junior Web Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Web Developer to join their expanding digital team in Portsmouth . This role is perfect for a budding developer eager to learn and grow their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. You will assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of company websites and web applications, working closely with senior developers and the wider technical team. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and coding of new website features and functionalities using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Support the maintenance and updating of existing websites and web applications.
• Collaborate with senior developers on bug fixing and performance optimization tasks.
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure code quality.
• Assist in testing web applications to identify and resolve issues before deployment.
• Learn and apply new web development technologies and frameworks as required by projects.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with at least one back-end programming language (e.g., Python, PHP, Node.js) is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of database concepts (SQL or NoSQL).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in web development.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• A portfolio or examples of personal web development projects would be advantageous.
