About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Web Developer to join their expanding digital team in Portsmouth . This role is perfect for a budding developer eager to learn and grow their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. You will assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of company websites and web applications, working closely with senior developers and the wider technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in front-end and back-end development technologies and contribute to exciting web projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and coding of new website features and functionalities using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Support the maintenance and updating of existing websites and web applications.
- Collaborate with senior developers on bug fixing and performance optimization tasks.
- Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure code quality.
- Assist in testing web applications to identify and resolve issues before deployment.
- Learn and apply new web development technologies and frameworks as required by projects.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with at least one back-end programming language (e.g., Python, PHP, Node.js) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of database concepts (SQL or NoSQL).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in web development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- A portfolio or examples of personal web development projects would be advantageous.
