We, Academics, are looking for a suitable candidate to support as a Teaching Assistant for one of our reputable schools in the Birmingham, B21 area. This Teaching Assistant opportunity starts at the end of September 2026 and is full-time role.

Location: Handsworth, B21

As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
• Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed
• De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Relevant qualifications or experience
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed
• Confidence and flexibility in working with both Year 1 & Year 2 classes

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
