About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and energetic Kitchen Porter to support their busy kitchen operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is fundamental to the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient preparation. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene, assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks, and managing dishwashing duties. This position is ideal for an individual who is reliable, hard-working, and eager to contribute to a professional culinary team in Staffordshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Wash and store all crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables and portioning ingredients.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring correct stock rotation and organization.
• Support the kitchen team by performing various cleaning duties as required during service and post-service.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning/support role is beneficial but not essential.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work efficiently and methodically, both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina for demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
