About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and hardworking Kitchen Porter to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment for their catering operations in Edinburgh . In this essential role, you will be responsible for washing dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, assisting chefs with basic food preparation, and ensuring the overall tidiness of the kitchen space. Your contribution is vital to the smooth running of the kitchen and the success of our catering services.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and properly store all dishes, cutlery, cookware, and utensils.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, including floors, work surfaces, and equipment.
• Empty and dispose of kitchen waste and recycling appropriately.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as directed, such as peeling vegetables or preparing ingredients.
• Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are used correctly and stored safely.
• Support the kitchen team by ensuring a well-organized and hygienic workspace is maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning role is advantageous.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• A proactive approach and willingness to undertake various kitchen support tasks.
• Team player with good communication skills.
