About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and reliable Kitchen Porter to join the busy kitchen team at their establishment in Norwich . This essential role supports the chefs by maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, ensuring all dishes and equipment are cleaned to a high standard. You will be responsible for washing dishes, maintaining a hygienic working environment, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed. The ideal candidate is hardworking, pays attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing machines and by hand.
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, and equipment.
• Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables and portioning ingredients.
• Restock kitchen supplies, such as cleaning materials and crockery.
• Ensure the dishwashing area is kept tidy and organised at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning or manual role is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
