About the Role

Our client is looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to support their busy catering operations in Nottingham . As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. You will be responsible for washing dishes, maintaining equipment, and assisting the kitchen team with basic tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, can work effectively in a fast-paced setting, and is keen to contribute to a professional kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to high standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen work areas, floors, and surfaces.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, as directed.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company and local guidelines.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and chemicals are used safely and stored correctly.
• Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies and keeping the workspace organised.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning role is preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently, following instructions accurately.
• Good understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices in a food service environment.
• Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting.
• A reliable and punctual work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed in Nottingham .
