About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to support the culinary team at their busy restaurant in Oxford . This role is fundamental to maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of the kitchen environment. You will be responsible for washing dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring all equipment is clean and properly stored. The ideal candidate will be diligent, physically fit, and possess a strong work ethic, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and clean all kitchen utensils, crockery, and equipment promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen area.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required.
• Dispose of waste correctly and manage refuse areas.
• Ensure all cleaning chemicals and equipment are used safely and correctly.
• Support the kitchen team by ensuring supplies are stocked and organised.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning role is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of basic health and safety principles in a kitchen setting.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Reliability and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean workspace.
